when is the best time of year to take my senior pictures?
WHAT time of day do you photograph?
WHAT IS A pre-consultation?
What is involved in retouching?
do i receive hair & make-up services when booking?
how do i know what to wear?
Inside the Senior Prep Guide you'll find lots of tips on what to wear, what to avoid, places to shop, etc. I also offer wardrobe assistance now! I'm happy to come to your home (if you live in the Decatur area) or jump on a Facetime call and we can shop your closet. I can also send online recommendations once I know your style. I love shopping and happy to help anytime.
I highly recommend professional hair and make-up for a fun and stress free day. It's also nice to know you are camera ready when your make up is professionally done. If you are interested in adding hair and make-up, please let me know and I will help you get it booked.
Great question! June-November or March-April is when I typically photograph seniors. A couple of things to consider are the type of clothes you like to wear, the weather, type of scenery (fresh spring flowers, golden summer sunsets, warm tones of fall) and your schedule. Book your session in your off-season if you play sports or have a busy extracurricular schedule. This way you won't be rushing or stressed out.
After booking your session you'll receive my Senior Prep + Location Guide with some of my favorite spots to photograph. Locations are a personal preference and can also be determined by your hobbies. We'll go to different areas within one location for a variety of perfect backdrops.
For outdoor sessions, I typically photograph in the evening before sunset for the best light. I also like to photograph early in the morning. I try to avoid middle of the day.
The pre-consultation is generally 2 weeks before your session. This is where we get to know each other, discuss goals, answer questions, look at outfits and plan locations. We will work out every little detail so your session is perfect in every way!
Most of my time is spent behind the computer perfecting your images and creating the "wow factor." Retouching includes adding depth, boosting color, bringing out your eyes, clearing up pesky blemishes, removing background distractions, removing apple watch tan lines, etc. I strive for a clean editing style and professional quality in all of your final images, paying careful attention to not overdo it!
